Commission E Appreciates Diploma Amnesty Program

Jakarta City Council Commission E Chairman, KH Muhammad Thamrin appreciated the fourth phase of diploma amnesty program initiated by Jakarta Provincial Government. He considered this policy a concrete step that would be highly beneficial for the future of Jakarta's children.

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has distributed the fourth phase of 2025 diploma amnesty assistance, worth over Rp 7.6 billion, to 1,897 students. With this addition, the total number of students assisted throughout 2025 reached 3,212 people, valued at approximately Rp 12 billion.

"Many students are prevented from continuing their education or finding work simply because their diplomas are delayed due to costs," he said, Friday (8/22).

He hopes this program will reopen opportunities for Jakarta's children to shape their future. Commission E, he continued, fully supports the program, as it aligns with the commitment to increasing equitable access to education in Jakarta.

"We encourage that data collection will be carried out more comprehensively, distribution will be faster, and integrated with the KJP and KJMU programs, so that the benefits will be broader and more sustainable," he added.

In addition to diploma whitening, Thamrin also supports the educational tourism program for KJP recipients from elementary to vocational school levels.

With this program, students were invited to several museums in Jakarta namely MH Thamrin, Joang '45, Wayang, Tekstil, Bahari, Seni dan Keramik Museums and HB Jassin Library.

"We also consider educational tourism activities for KJP recipients to be positive, because in addition to financial assistance, students also get learning experiences outside the classroom that can enrich their knowledge," he stated.
